central Library is considered as one of vital institutions,which contributes in saving and organising various sources of knowledge from books and prints it is considered a significant indicator of the level of civilizational and cultural progress of people, the library contributed to disseminating information that preserves the nation and its history.
Central Library in University of Basrah forwarded to be a leading centre in the dissemination of knowledge, facilitate access to meet the needs of the academic and research community and encourage students to read , supporting educational institutions in achieving their mission through optionthe availability of educational resources of books, references for periodicals and theses in addition to different electronic books and awareness programs.
